The Commonwealth Building
300 Water Street, Wilmington, DE 19801
The Commonwealth Building, home to The Commonwealth Group, is the result of a meticulous restoration of the historic headquarters for the former Harlan and Hollingsworth Shipbuilding Corporation. Originally constructed in 1912, this historic registered building was the epicenter of the shipbuilding industry in Wilmington until its demise in the 1950’s. Thereafter it sat neglected until the 1990’s when it became a print production and office facility for Associates International. The Commonwealth Group made 300 Water Street its headquarters in 2002 after an extensive renovation to convert the entire facility to office.
